This extraordinary retreat is our signature emotional intelligence work that has been developed over 20 years of our self-development and having worked with thousands of people. Hosted in the luxury retreat centre, Fair Oak Farm in East Sussex.
“This has given me the freedom to be who I really am! I feel so liberated. So much help was given and received. The support was genuine. The tools to use in every day life are so easy to do.”
Jean
Can you imagine finally living without feeling guilty?
Would you like to experience life without crippling anxiety?
To be able to make decisions without fear?
How would it be to live life truly for yourself and not feel selfish?
Is there always a voice in your head telling you that you aren’t good enough?
That you aren’t clever enough?
Do you have low self esteem and low self confidence?
Do you struggle with body positivity?
Have you attracted toxic relationships?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions isn’t it time to break free of all of this which is holding you back?
This year we have booked the exclusive use of Fair Oak Farm for our retreat. Converted farm buildings, farmhouse, cottages and lodges are nestled in a private, secluded 12 acre country estate, within the High Weald, a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in East Sussex. We have availability for 18 guests to join us.
A gated entrance and private gravel driveway leads to a complex of buildings with private parking available for up to 15 cars. The accommodation at Fair Oak Farm provides each guest with single occupancy to their own private lodge, cottage or double room. Guests can chose between a range of traditional, boutique and quirky accommodation, all with bathrooms or shower rooms and many with their own personal living, dining and kitchen spaces.
“This is true personal development. Each day I came in and felt so different. I found out things about myself that I did not know were holding me back. I genuinely feel lighter, happier, more confident and sure about myself.”
Michelle
Our retreat was started to help our clients do some intensive work around the common issues we saw them struggling with in clinic.
It evolved to become part of our training for our practitioners because we realise that you can’t be a good practitioner without dealing with your own emotional stuff first.
These days we specialise in the peri to post menopause transition and we believe that this transition is a gift.
Many of us go through our lives putting other people first, we are taught to be good girls and people pleasers and boundaries are commonly an alien concept in case we rock the boat or upset people. And then we have careers and children, and we get busy, very busy. And when we are busy, we often don’t have time to prepare nourishing meals for ourselves and instead, grab things on the run. We might not prioritise exercise, or self-care. We don’t have time for self-reflection and for stillness.
But menopause can be physically challenging, and we have NO choice but to be in radical self-care. We have a stigma around being selfish but the definition of selfish is to have less concern for others than we do for ourselves. Isn’t that great? Aren’t we taught to put our own oxygen mask on first before helping others? It’s just alien to us if our conditioning has taught us to put everyone else first and ignore our own needs.
The liminal space of peri menopause is highlighting to us all that we need to leave behind, and this will be different for different women but could include toxic dynamics or situations, behaviours that our body can no longer handle, negative self talk and outdated beliefs.
This is exactly the work we do, over six incredible days in a beautiful venue with great food and fantastic support. We give you the tools to get rid of the baggage and beliefs that no longer serve you and move into the new phase of your life claiming your true self.
Most of us experience life through the lens of what with think we “should” be doing based on societal norms and familial expectation combined with low self esteem/ self judgement or anxiety. This retreat rewires those beliefs and enables you to step into a new paradigm, free of conditioning and fear so you can live a full, expansive and authentic life.
“They provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment for a group of women to work through their fears and anxiety. This workshop has provided amazing tools to help me on my journey.”
Penny
This event is personally led by Claire and Laura who have years of clinical and retreat experience of guiding people through their blocks.
Those who are attracted to this work are those who often feel that something in their life is missing or not “right”. They don’t want to pretend anymore but they don’t know how to be true to themselves.
They feel the person they have become is bound by duty and fear and they want something more. They know in their hearts their life can be extraordinary but they don’t know how to make it so.
They may be bored of their careers, feel unfulfilled in their relationships and have forgotten to be authentic, they may be struggling with parenting, facing issues around sex, they are often anxious or deeply overwhelmed and living with negative self image or have lost their dreams. We commonly hear that they feel like “little girls in women’s bodies”
Ultimately they have lost their connection to themselves and don’t know how to get it back. They may be numbing themselves with shopping, online addictions, food, drugs, alcohol or television but they realise they are now ready to take the steps to change.
The six days is a carefully constructed journey. We start at the beginning, identifying our issues so we have a full picture of what to work with. Day by day, we layer upon deep transformative work, shining light on every aspect of your life supporting you to step into the best version of yourself.
If you are a therapist or considering training as someone who can ‘hold space’ for others, there is an opportunity to upgrade this course to Holding Space Practitioner Training which will give you a qualification to use the tools and techniques you discover in this training in your work practice.
“I came to this workshop at a time I was in a great amount of emotional pain. I am so glad I came, it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I cannot thank these women enough for their support.”
Sam
On the first day of the retreat we deep dive into our ‘stuff’ including behaviours, patterns, beliefs, emotional experiences and survival strategies. To explore ourselves fully, we use theories and models from different aspects of psychology. The drama triangle is a good example of a pattern of behaviour we can get into when in relationships with our family, partners and friends. Here we share a video on what is the drama triangle and to give you a flavour of how we work with emotions.
“This course will, quite simply, change your life. Balanced Wellness have created a body of work that has broken through years of ‘stuff’ in a way that nothing has before. I feel stronger, more able and confident.”
Vicki
